Detective Abberline- Benedict Cumberbatch

Benedict Cumberbatch has been in several TV dramas and film which hone in on the idea of him being perfect to play are main detective in our film; such as Sherlock who was one of our inspirations for Abberline. Cumberbatch has also been in films such as Atonement, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and the latest BBC drama Parades End; all of these have an element of crime or history to them. 

Detective Moore- David Tennant

David Tennant is a family favorite in the UK so would therefore attract a wide audience due to his large appeal. Tennent has has been in the iconic Sci-Fi show Doctor Who as the main character as the Doctor, which gives us the warm side to the detective duo of Abberline and Moore.

Chief Warden Brooking- Timothy Spall

Timothy Spall has a distinct look to him which would make him stand ot for our trailer. He has been films such as Series of Unfortunate Events, King Speech (As Winston Churchill) and Fagin in Oliver Twist; all of these roles have a form of authority to them which would seem fitting for our chief Warden.

Press Officer Carter- Karen Gillian

Karen Gillian has only being two major role as Amy Pond in Doctor Who and Jean Shrimpton in "We'll take Manhattan". Gillian has a unique look to her, has a vigor and flair to her which would be perfect for the determined Press Officer Carter

Jack The Ripper-

Mark Strong,

Mark Foster has acted in numerous role which are set in the Victorian era such as Sherlock Holmes and The Young Victoria, often portraying villains and antagonists-he would be ideal as one of the Rippers.

Jeremy Irons,

A well established Shakespeare actor, Irons is a national treasure and has been up for numerous awards for his roles in films such as Lion King, Brideshead Revisted and Elizabeth I. With his varied and long career, Irons would show another side to the Rippers.

Alan Rickman,

Playing often the melancholic and damned; Rickman gives new dimension to the villain and even makes us question whether certain people fall into the carnage that happens around them. In roles such as Severous Snap in the Harry Potter saga and is in numerous costume dramas.

 Gary Oldman,

Cool, calm and collected; Gary Oldman has a transferable quality to him where he can be the kindest of people like Sirus Black in Harry Potter, to dark and scheming such as in Leon and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. He would be perfect as one of the Rippers, maybe even the leader of them?

 Andy Serkis

Voice actor and screen too, Serkis is the voice of the menacing Gollum in The Lord of the Rings; also voicing characters in Planet of the Apes, King Kong and playing Hare in the Burke and Hare; Serkis would maybe show mad side to Ripper.

Mary Jane Kelly-Carey Mulligan

Innocent but sophisticated, Carey Mulligan is beautiful and could be seen as a victim but with a strength  and determination not fit into the stereotype of a young actress. Mulligan is an unusual choice but is probably the most worthy young British actress to play Rippers last known victim Mary Jane Kelly.
